Effective 29 July 2026
Terms of service
These are the rules for using YOo. They are short on purpose, and the part that matters most is the one about how you treat other people.
Agreeing to these terms
By creating a YOo account or using the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use YOo. The service is provided by CREATIVE ADVANCED TECHNOLOGIES Co., a company registered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (“we”, “us”).
Who may use YOo
You must be at least 13 years old. You need a phone number you control, and WhatsApp on that number to receive your verification code. You are responsible for what happens through your account, so keep your phone locked and your WhatsApp account secure.
There is no tolerance for abuse
You may not use YOo to threaten, harass, stalk, bully or defame anyone. You may not use it to send sexual content involving children, to promote violence or terrorism, to distribute malware, to send bulk unsolicited messages, or to break the law.
We have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. An account used for any of the above will be suspended or removed, and the number may be barred from registering again. We act on reports within 24 hours.
Reporting, and what we can and cannot do
You can block any user from inside the app, and report them to us from the same screen. Blocking takes effect immediately.
Because YOo is end-to-end encrypted, we cannot read conversations and cannot search for abuse on our own. We act on what is reported to us. A report includes the material you are reporting, sent from your device, so that we can see what you saw. This is why reporting matters — it is the only way we learn that something is wrong.
See the support page for how to report, and the privacy policy for what information a report contains.
Your account
You can stop using YOo at any time, and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, that is used to harm others, or where we are required to by law. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why.
The service is provided as it is
YOo is provided free of charge and without any warranty. We do our best to keep it running and secure, but we cannot promise it will always be available, that messages will always arrive, or that it will be free of faults. Nothing here excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and nothing here removes rights you have under the law of the country you live in.
YOo is not an emergency service and cannot be used to contact emergency responders.
Open source
YOo is built on Signal's open-source software and is licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License, version 3. You can obtain the source code — see the source code page.
YOo is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Signal Messenger LLC or the Signal Technology Foundation.
Changes
If we change these terms we will change the date at the top, and we will tell you in the app before a significant change takes effect. Continuing to use YOo after that means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the United Arab Emirates, and the courts of Dubai have jurisdiction over any dispute. This does not take away any protection you have under the mandatory law of the country where you live.
